Layouts to Share!

Good Morning! I thought I would share with you today a few layouts I just completed for the Sketch Support/Scrapbook Generations Creative Team Call.

The first layout is really special to me. As the journaling states, one day while Lily and I were mowing the lawn, we came across this Monarch Butterfly. It didn't move as we got closer to it, so we stopped and Lily picked it up. She brought it to the front of the house, where it stayed for several days. It didn't seem to be hurt as it as flying around a little. I told her that Great Grandma must have sent it to us, since she passed away less than 2 weeks prior. She agreed that Grandma must have, and she was so happy to be able to hold it.

Supply List: Patterned Paper: BasicGrey; Butterfly Punches: Martha Stewart Crafts; Chipboard Letters: American Crafts; Gems: Kaiser; Border Punch: EK Success; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Glue Dots; Sketch: Allison Davis for Sketch Support

I used two sketches to complete the layout below. I used the Add-On Sketch along with the One-Page Sketch. As soon as I saw this Camera Add-On Sketch, I immediately knew I wanted to make a layout about the pictures Lily takes when she gets a hold of my camera.

Supply List: Patterned Paper: My Minds Eye; Gems: Kaiser, Little Yellow Bicycle; Chipboard Letters: American Crafts; Chipboard Heart: Unknown; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L; Sketch: Allison Davis for Sketch Support

Braiden's 6th Birthday!

Hello, sorry it's been so long since I've posted. I wanted to share some photo's from Braiden's 6th Birthday Party with you today. He wanted his party at our local bowling alley. This was his first "friends" party. I was a little nervous, I must say, but the party went really well. It ended up running a little late, but I guess we'll know better next time! Here's some pictures from his party...

Front Row: Lily, Sadie, Mason
Back Row: Jace, Mitchell, Braiden, Kaleb, Zachary, Braedy

Braiden's Friends from Kindergarten

Ok... When I bought Braiden's birthday present, I was sure we had wrapping paper at home. Well when I got home I discovered that we didn't, so I decided to cut apart some brown paper bags from the grocery store and wrap it with that. (My Grandma used to wrap presents with the funnies from the newspaper.) I let the kids draw pictures and put stickers on it, they loved it. In fact, Braiden didn't want to throw it away.

And here's the card that I made Braiden:

Halloween Pictures!

Hello, I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween. The kids had a great time last night trick-or-treating. I have some Halloween pictures to share with you from this past weekend, we went to our local nursery and snapped these photos. Braiden wanted to be a firefighter, but when we went to the store, they were out of his size, so he decided to be a police officer instead. Lily saw this monarch butterfly costume in a catalog and knew the whole time that was what she wanted to be.

That's it for now. Thanks for looking!

Ghost Cookies

Hello, it seems like it's been a long time since I've posted anything, so I thought I would share with you the Ghost Cookies the kids made today. While I was visiting the Sketch Support Blog this morning, I saw a layout that Allison Davis made that had these adorable ghost cookies on it. I thought they would be a nice and easy project for the kids to do, so we ran to the store and bought the ingredients... NutterButter Cookies, Vanilla Candy Coating and Mini Chocolate Chips. They were so easy to make, the kids made them all by themselves and I have to say that I think they did a wonderful job!

Microwave the Vanilla Candy Coating until completely melted. Dip the Nutter Butter Cookies in the candy coating until covered, letting the excess candy coating dip off.

Place on waxed paper.

Immediately add 3 mini chocolate chips, two for the eyes and one for the mouth. Place the completed cookies in the refrigerator until the candy coating is set.

The next step is very important... make sure to eat the remaining vanilla candy coating, as you don't want any to go to waist!! :-)

And finally you have your completed Ghost Cookies.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!!!

Fall Photos!

This past weekend we drove up to Father Hennepin State Park on Mille Lacs Lake to take our annual Fall photos. The kids love walking on the trails through the woods. While walking on the trail we came across this...

The kids were so excited to see it. It was the biggest frog I have ever seen. It's kind of hard to tell by the picture though.

Well on to the Fall photos of Braiden and Lily. Braiden wasn't really in the mood for pictures. But Lily on the other hand, was ready and willing to pose. On the way up to the lake, we came across this old abandoned church. So we stopped and snapped a few pictures there.

Here's the rest of the pictures from Father Hennepin State Park.

That's it for today. Sorry the pictures aren't centered, the formatting isn't working for me today for some reason. Thanks for looking!

Cards, Cards and More Cards

Hello and Happy Monday! I have lots of cards to share with you today. Over the past few days I've made 5 different cards, most of which are birthday cards. Saturday was World Card Making Day, so the timing worked out just perfect.

First up is a card I made for my sister-in-law Tricia's birthday. The butterfly punch I used is one of my new favorite scrapbooking tools. As you will see, I used it on almost every card.

Next up is a card I made for a friend of mine. I hand stitched around the edge, it takes a long time, but I just love how it looks when it's completed.

This card I made for my cousin Amy. We went to her birthday bash this past weekend. The party was also for my Aunt Sandy's birthday and Amy's husband Dave's birthday. Their cards are up next. :-) The party was lots of fun. It's always nice to see my family members.

And here is the card I made for my Aunt Sandy. Like I said... I really like that butterfly punch.

And lastly is Dave's Birthday Card. I would have used the butterfly punch on this one too, but I didn't think Dave would have liked it that much, so I decided to go with stars. :-)

Supply List: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Punch: Martha Stewart Crafts; Gems: Mark Richards; Pearls: Kaiser; Thread: We R Memory Keepers; Buttons: Unknown; Rub-Ons: Pebbles Inc.; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Glue Dots

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday Dear Tricia, Sandy, Amy and Dave!
Happy Birthday to you!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful birthday! Thanks for looking!!!

More Lunchbox Love Notes!

It seems like it's been forever since I've posted any projects. I have a few weeks worth of Lunchbox Love Notes to share with you today. Last weeks theme was School Supplies and the week prior was Animals. Braiden requested a Zebra on one of his cards (that's the mascot at his school), but I can't get myself to cut out teensy little zebra stripes from patterned paper to make one. Maybe some day, I do have some zebra print patterend paper, I'll have to see if I can come up with something for him.

Supply List: Patterned Paper: Basic Grey, Scenic Route Paper Company; Gems: Mark Richards; Border Punch: Fiskars; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Pop Dots by EK Success

I made two cards today, I'll post them after this weekend, as the person getting them reads this blog and I don't want her to see them before I give them to her! :-) So check back on Monday for a few more cards, hopefully I will have completed a layout or two by then to post also. Thanks for looking, have a great week!
